Lilith by Sign and House
Lilith in Aries or the 1st house has the strength of an Amazon Warrior, and she’s not hiding it. You probably had to Lilith Up to defend yourself early on in life, since others would have been able to sense your innate strength and independence, and likely some of them resented it. You fight fiercely for the cause.
Lilith in Taurus or the 2nd house speaks of women’s sensuality, unabashed sex appeal, and the right to a full bank account of your own. You trust your gut instincts and your creativity. You don’t apologize for your body or your sexual appetite. Your feminist work is to gain power and resources in a world that wants to keep you dependent.
Lilith in Gemini or the 3rd house makes you witty, tricky, and good with words. A woman with Lilith here plays the game, collecting and using information to her advantage. You need to feed your intellect, and find an outlet for expressing your opinions. Your feminist work is in speaking and writing; your voice won’t be silenced.
Lilith in Cancer or the 4th house resides in the deep core of your soul, where others may not even glimpse her -- but you know she’s there. You have an inner wildness, and a powerful intuition. Women with Lilith in Cancer often see a strong connection between feminism and the environment. You work to empower women.
Lilith in Leo or the 5th house makes no apologies for her outrageous talent. Your strength is in your creativity and performance, your powers of attraction, and your flair for life. Your creative work may be feminist simply because you, a powerful woman, are the creator and star. You need to find an audience for your awe-inspiring performances.
Lilith in Virgo or the 6th house embraces her sexuality in a matter-of-fact way, even more completely than Lilith in Taurus. You have over-the-top powers of analysis and detail-oriented perfection. Women with Lilith in Virgo or the 6th house are excellent healers and social reformers. Your work is feminist because you are undeniably competent and in control.
Lilith in Libra or the 7th house has a secret weapon: her charm. She can use beauty, diplomacy, and the art of seduction to get what she wants. Your ability to relate to others makes them love you, allowing you to rise through the ranks to beloved Queen. Your feminist work is to find your way past obstacles. You break through barriers so elegantly that others can’t help but admire you for it.
Lilith in Scorpio or the 8th house is a fearless survivor. Here, she has the most intense sexuality of all. Frank, bawdy, dominating, Lilith in Scorpio is interested in the subjects that are most taboo: money and sex. Others can judge the Lilith in Scorpio woman harshly, so she learns not to care what people think. Your feminist work is to be daring and unconcerned about public opinion.
Lilith in Sagittarius or the 9th house is much too free to be bothered with rules or precautions. She travels alone, she pursues high goals, she enjoys plenty of sex without romantic attachment -- she does whatever she wants, wherever she wants. Limitations aren’t even a consideration. Your feminist work is to remain a free spirit always.
Lilith in Capricorn or the 10th house is a Boss. She desires power and influence, and she knows how to get it. Lilith here has an unmatched work ethic and wildly ambitious goals. It doesn’t matter where you came from; if you have Lilith in Capricorn you’re fiercely determined to make it. Your feminist work is to be the CEO.
Lilith in Aquarius or the 11th house is an original. She can’t help it; she’s ahead of her time and she lives in the future. Lilith here is likely to be an agent of change, but not because she originally set out to lead a cause. Your feminist work is to be an individual, to separate yourself from the herd and create something new.
Lilith in Pisces or the 12th house is powerfully mystical. She’s wild in the sense that she can see between the worlds. Lilith here can give you psychic powers and keep you open to communication with spirits. Your feminist work is to stay connected to the creative source and your own intuition in a world that prefers rationality.

More about Lilith
Lilith is a goddess from ancient mythology, or one aspect of the goddess. She is a dark and powerful one -- and when I say “dark” I don’t mean that she represents evil, but that she’s associated with the wildness and destruction that is part of the creative life force. Similar goddesses include Kali, Hecate, and Persephone. Lilith in astrology symbolizes everything the patriarchy fears: women’s rage, sexuality, power, independence, and our absolute demand for equality.
Other mythologies paint Lilith as a demon, an evil and vengeful goddess or witch. Older astrological texts and even some astrologers now will speak of Lilith in the chart as a representation of your jealous, vengeful side. You know the drill: a story of feminine power is twisted into a story of sin. I reject those interpretations of Lilith. Especially since goddesses are so few and far between in astrological language. The larger celestial bodies are mostly represented as male gods, while goddesses (Vesta, Juno, Lilith, Ceres) are represented by asteroids and are only just starting to be used for astrological interpretation.
In this time of “dire beauty”, as astrologer and activist Caroline Casey would say, we need to access Lilith. In protest of the inauguration of a sexual predator, misogynist and racist, women are marching on Washington. Women are striking on January 20th and 21st. We will not quietly accept these assaults on our bodies, our health care, our right to choice, our paychecks, our time, or our power. Lilith up: the resistance is now.
And yes, if you’re male, trans, non-binary, or gender non-conforming, these interpretations of your Lilith placement are for you, too.
DIY Astro: Finding your Lilith in the Chart
In the astrological chart, Lilith is represented by three different points: the Asteroid Lilith, the controversial Dark Moon Lilith (supposedly the Earth’s second moon), and Black Moon Lilith, an abstract, geometrical point in space. She’s wild, not simple.
For our purposes, let’s use Black Moon Lilith.
